I did an English literature and language course at college combined but I admit the language side was somewhat more interesting to me. I didn't mind having to read Shakespeare for the millionth time but when they made us read Chaucer I was done with that shit. High school had more interesting choices in my opinion. We read Harry Potter 1 and 2, Rolling thunder hear my cry, Of mice and men and To kill a mocking bird so I admit when I went to college I was surprised we were somewhat reading down a grade. Shakespeare was so year 7 and Chaucer was out of his ass riding mind. Those days were still pretty good though, it was the 'let's raid my mothers book collection' years. Makes no sense to anyone but myself when I call that hardcore fantasy reading. Probably helps though if I mention the fact she's a big ole academic on the subject and when I say 'collection' I kinda mean personal library taking up 3 rooms and an attic. I found some things in there... some very strange things.
